Friday | November 15, 2002 Dems mount fight over Homeland bill Senate Democrats are vowing to block the Homeland Security Bill unless Republicans strip several "special interest" provisions snuck into the bill. The provisions includes a bill to create a "homeland security research center" at a major university -- a provision meant to benefit Texas A&M University (Gramm and DeLay's pet school). Also, the bill would shield pharmaceutical companies from lawsuits over vaccines -- a major boon to the GOP's Big Drug backers.
