Bush's deficits

Seriously, does anyone still believe the GOP is the party of fiscal discipline? They have the government trifecta, and how are we rewarded?

In its annual review of the president's budget, the nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office said Bush's policies would turn the $891 billion cumulative surplus it otherwise predicts between 2004 and 2013 into a $1.82 trillion deficit.

The government would also post budget deficits every year during that period, the agency forecast in the latest report to underscore the startling slide in the U.S. fiscal position. As recently as 2001, the CBO had predicted cumulative 10-year budget surpluses of up to $5.6 trillion.

Let me repeat it, because it needs to be repeated -- nay, SHOUTED from every rooftop across our fair land:
Bush's policies would turn the $891 billion cumulative surplus it otherwise predicts between 2004 and 2013 into a $1.82 trillion deficit.
And this is on top of the $3.8 trillion in surpluses already squandered (though in all fairness, about 1/3 of that already squandered surplus was a result of 9-11).
