Blair: resolution "less likely"

While the US claims it has the support of 8 countries, the Brits seem to have a more realistic outlook:

The Foreign Office said the talks would continue despite earlier suggestions by Prime Minister Tony Blair that the resolution appeared now "less likely than at any time", and war was getting closer.

The UK officials said the United States had agreed that talks should continue - reversing their demand for a vote at the weekend by the 15-member UN Security Council.

The BBC also reports that Bush may give his "war address" as early as this weekend.
