A Good Day in the Redistricting Wars

Texas Killer D's return to Austin in triumph. Willie Nelson gifted them with bourbon and bandanas ... but no Dixie Chick sightings to date. Kuff and Burnt Orange have important updates.

And this from Luis at Political State Report:

... Colorado Attorney General Ken Salazar filed a petition for an “original proceeding” ... asking the court to decide now whether the Republicans can reopen congressional redistricting after the issue was thought to be settled in court in 2001. ...

UPDATE 5.16.03: The Colorado Supreme Court granted Salazar's petition on Thursday. The Secretary of State now has thirty days to show cause why the court should not rule the plan to be unconstitutional.

It's a good day to be a D ... the fightin' kind, o'course.
