The Bush Job Plan

Given that the country has lost about 3 million jobs during Bush's reign, it's interesting to note his latest effort at job creation.

The US Republican Party now has a band of young and enthusiastic fund-raisers in Noida and Gurgaon.

HCL eServe, the business process outsourcing arm of the Shiv Nadar-promoted HCL Technologies, has bagged a project to undertake a fund-raising campaign for the US Republican Party over the telephone.

This is the first time such a project has been handed out to a company outside the US. The market research and public relations companies engaged by the party usually undertake such projects.

Of course, this is creating jobs in India (not Indiana), but who cares? Doesn't he have the election in the bag? Bush is popular! So said Fox News!

Of course you have to wonder which idiot at the RNC is behind this, handing the Democrats a PR bonanza. The Democrats should have a justifiably salient issue to wield against the GOP (who will undoubtedly backtrack if this story hits the mainstream press).

There's one more interesting tidbit from the story:

The Republican contract comes on the heels of a successful anti-abortion campaign run by HCL eServe for a US politician.
I'd love to know who this politician was. I'm sure his or her constituents would love the news.
