Dems take LA house seat -- MAJOR upset

Rodney Alexander is a Democrat running in a solid GOP district. While being the top vote getter in the Nov. 5 election, he took a clear minority of the vote against three GOP opponents.

So, he had no chance. Especially with Bush campaigning for his opponent, Lee Fletcher. Right?

But... He won. Well, maybe. The margin of victory is but a sliver -- in the hundreds. So, I assume there will be a recount of some sort. But this is HUGE:

85,720 Rodney Alexander
85,202 Lee Fletcher
One theory held that GOP-leaning hunters would be in the bush, rather than at the polling booth, today. True or not, this is great.

Landrieu also seems to have pulled off a victory, though nothing official on that front...
