"The hand of war ..."

by RonK, Seattle

Robert Jamieson, an outstanding scribe and columnist from my neck of the woods, renders an RPG round's stateside impact in simple concrete detail.

The hand of war grabs the young woman as she shops for twin-size sheets with pictures of Dalmatians.

She is at a Marysville garage sale. It is 10:30 on Saturday morning. Her cell phone rings.

"Come home!" her boyfriend's brother says on the other end.

"Why?"

"I can't tell you."

"No. You can. Tell me now!"

...

The rest of the story? Read it and weep.
